A Day In The Life

Oh, Canada

There are 19 varieties of goldenrod native to Maine, and this is one of them, named after our northern neighbors: Canada Goldenrod. Sadly goldenrod gets a bad rap for causing allergies in late summer and fall when in bloom, but ragweed is actually the culprit. Goldenrod is pollinated by insects, not wind • This tall bunch is growing near our shed but we have many others scattered around the yard. It’s a favorite of bugs, bees, crabby spiders and butterflies • The feeders are getting busier, another signal of fall. Lots of finches, titmice and chickadees visiting • Last night was another late night as we wanted to hear Michelle and Barack Obama speak. Wow! We miss them • Another late one tonight, I suppose ;) • Peace & Love
