Beach Daleks

That is what they looked like at first glance. On closer examination, I wasn't sure whether these stone cone shaped structures  atop the sea wall in West Beach at Selsey were there for decorative or protective purposes. They had little fortress toppings that had mostly been eroded away by a combination of the wind and sea. Indeed, quite a stretch of the promenade behind the sea wall was covered in shingle that had obviously been thrown up from the beach by the waves.  The extra is of my wife undertaking a touch of beachcombing looking for items that could go into the upcoming Harvest Festival display to represent the harvest of the sea. The lobster pot would have been ideal but we couldn't shift it, as it was was so firmly embedded in the sand. It would have needed Arthurian powers to extract it from the sand's concrete-like grip.
