A vibrant life

While the title might apply to the dahlia given the shading of pink, it also applies to the life of a member of the congregation whose funeral was today.

So many people turned up for the service that it had to be moved from the smaller chapel to the main crematorium. Laurence (with a “u” : though it was discovered after his death that his birth certificate had a “w”!) was a lovely man who always had time to chat. His passion was football, golf and family with regular large family outings to the beach or abroad. I spoke with him a few weeks ago and he seemed in good fettle, despite problems with his legs. He was 87 and will be missed.

The weather was so cold, wet and windy that I did not, on my return home, put on shorts. Long trousers were needed. I steeled myself to recording responses to church consultation papers which took up the afternoon and early evening.

A zoom call followed to check we have everything in place for the office flower show in early September. If the show were tomorrow this dahlia would be entered!
