Bronze Statue

What a horrendous wind (again) this must be the poorest summer weather we’ve had in many years and Spring was poor too. UGH!

We had a walk round the North Inch Parklands where this statue is after dropping some stuff off at the Charity shop.

Evening walk later, I put my gloves on :(

I like this statue.

A bronze memorial on the North Inch, Perth, Scotland to those who served in two world wars in the 51st Highland Division, the first Allied troops to cross the Rhine in the Second World War. The sculpture shows a little Dutch girl presenting a Scottish soldier with a posy of flowers and was dedicated in 1995. A further plaque honouring the dead was presented by the people of Gennep in the Netherlands, where much of the fighting in the Rhine Crossing, Operation Veritable, took place in February 1945. This was unveiled at the final reunion of the 51st veterans in June 2008.
