The "weed" source?

Any-one daft/keen enough to be following me may remember  this "weed"

I think I've accidentally discovered whence it came.

A lady we bumped into in the local S/market happened to be a coeliac ex-customer, since Herself has foresworn wheat they got chatting, she lent us a book, which we returned today.

When an American refers to his "Back yard" he, apparently, means "Garden", which might be up to ½ an acre or more.
When a Brit says "Back yard" he tends to mean a few square yards of paved area, often behind a 6' wall and high gate.
We opened said gate to be met by this site. I reckon it may be the source of my "weeds"
