Optimism

On This Day In History
1969: Zager and Evans end a six week run at number one with their smash hit In The Year 2525 (Exordium and Terminus)

Quote Of The Day
"Now it's been ten thousand years,
Man has cried a billion tears,
For what, he never knew, now man's reign is through.
But through eternal night, the twinkling of starlight,
So very far away, maybe it's only yesterday."
(Zager and Evans, In The Year 2525 (Exordium and Terminus )

Some critics say this is the gloomiest number one hit ever. I don't know about that, sometimes the possibility of mankind making it to 2025 seems optimistic, let alone 2525. Anyway, preparations for next week are going extremely well, so much so that I took some time to make a perpetual calendar to save myself the job of writing it on the board every morning. In the true spriit of optimism, I printed out a 2025 card. I didn't bother with a 2026 card, though.
