A long way to the beach
We had a lovely friend for a two night sleepover, and today we had to go to Coldingham beach, to meet with a group who organise for children from Chernobyl to come over for a month long stay in the Borders, with the fresh air and uncontaminated food greatly increasing their life expectancy. We are thinking of being a host family next year.
So, off we went, got to Duns, where the road I was to take went two ways. I stopped to phone Gordon. Towards Coldstream he said. I went. We ended up in Northumberland.
It took and hour and a half to eventually get to the beach.
The car park was full. We had to park a mile away.
We arrived onto the beach just as the haar decended. The children ran off. Could only see them thanks to Lily's neon shorts.
However, thanks to Ruth, I did meet with the group, who were all lovely. Donald and Luke did a marvelous job of looking after everyone. And the sun did come out again.
And, we went the right way home.
