Canada - Day 1

Work in the morning, then off to the airport for a much smoother experience than yesterday. We’d treated ourselves to Business Class, so the whole experience was more pleasant than it might have been.

Train to downtown, and a taxi to the club where we were staying. Despite the lure of diving straight into the lovely comfy bed, we were good and, after a fortifying cocktail in the club bar, headed out into the daylight to fool our bodies into thinking it was 6pm, not 11pm.

Dinner in a different club on a cool and breezy rooftop patio (Caesar salad, which I’m typically not allowed anymore as I always complain it’s not as good as my own recipe, but this one was very good and the double-smoked bacon bits a worthy addition that I am going to steal), then a stop off at a recommended bar (Earls) for a half price bottle of wine. Bed, when I was finally allowed, was very welcome.
