Sassie
Did a long session at the allotment, D joining later after an appointment at the dentist. I was hailed from the railway path by Mel who was walking Sassie, and invited her in for some produce. She managed to find her way round to the gate (not straightforward!) and I was able to offload brambles, courgettes and a lettuce. Sassie much enjoyed investigating all the doubtless wonderful smells on the plot.
Later we went up to the West End to join a former OU colleague's farewell bash at the Ghillie Dhu - hadn't been in their upstairs hall before, quite impressive. Nice to greet lots of old chums, but D having the usual early start tomorrow we left quite early, before the, erm, disco started. Tried some 'Belgian' frites on our way down Leith Walk, having recently had some of the real thing to compare with. No - double-fried, true, but I think in rapeseed oil. :-(
