Kilts, cabers and tartan hats
After yesterday's persistent rain the weather wasn't looking too good for today's Oban Games, but in spite of a damp start it began to clear up. The forecast promised the driest weather between about 12 and 4pm, so when Mrs M dropped me off at Mossfield it was looking good. I went up to the desk to buy a ticket and it began to rain! The Clerk of the Weather saw me coming! It rained for about half a minute and then cleared up - the rest of the afternoon was pretty sunny, with just a couple of very brief showers.
Took a few photographs - about 80, I think - and met several friends and acquaintances, then settled down to watch the caber tossing, tug-of-war, the weight over the bar and various other activities. I think a good time was had by all!
Quote of the Day: 'There's nothing quite like the sound of bagpipes and the sight of kilts to make you feel like you're in Scotland.' - Judy Murray.
