Echinops

As the weather forecast was dire, we decided to leave Cornwall a couple of days early.  We drove though drenching drizzle, and thick mist on the moors, until we crossed the Tamar.  The Chilterns have showers and gusty winds, but also warm sunshine.  As soon as the sun comes out so do the bees, gorging here on the Echinops.  The garden looks amazingly lush - it's strange to see green instead of blue.
