Ilfracombe
The weather was not playing ball but at least it did not rain.
Having finished dog sitting I was gifted a lovely birthday lunch at a delightful fish restaurant on the Quayside in Ilfracombe. The fish is as fresh as can be as the restaurant is run by the fishermen's families. I had a dressed crab salad; others had white crab meat sandwiches and smoked salmon/cream cheese sandwiches. All very pleasant. We followed this by finding the Hockings Ice cream van and enjoying a 'pudding' of a cone and flake, sitting near the landmark theatre (commonly called Madonna's Bra). All in all a very special and enjoyable feast!
En route home we stopped for a cuppa to round off the meal, so supported three different venues.
A very leisurely afternoon and a lovely final birthday outing for this year.
