From just north of Beck Foot
Runna's requirements of me for the marathon training are stepping up: today it was 14.3 miles. That arch-enabler Minx drove me north from Kirkby Lonsdale, up the Old Scotch Road, and dropped me off in a lay-by just north of Beck Foot. I took today's photo just before setting off.
All in all it wasn't a bad run. Some rather steep bits quite near the start, although I grew a little bored after a couple of hours into the run. By then, though, I was passing Rigmaden with home in my sights.
I had the most splendid post-run nap in the early afternoon, waking before Hannah arrived in her new car.
She hasn't driven since 2017, which has irrationally irritated her mum to the point that when she encountered a chap who restores and renovates cars, and who'd just competed work on a soft top Mini, she told him Hannah would buy it. The sale was completed before Hannah knew anything about it (or paying for it!).
Anyway, she turned up, this afternoon, sunglasses on, roof down, and ferrying Dan, whom she'd picked up from his mum's en route.
Dan was working, this evening, and Abi was off wild camping in the Lakes, so it was just me and Hannah who went down for a curry, which was no great hardship; she's excellent company :-)
