Under Siege

This morning, I found myself back in the garden, continuing work on the paths and slate chip borders. It's boring but satisfying work seeing the garden slowly come together, piece by piece. I also took some time to prepare some planters for spring bulbs.

By the time I was done, my step count read 15,209.

The village itself feels somewhat under siege this week. For over three years now, the road to Trefnant has remained closed, ever since Llanerch Bridge was swept away by the raging waters of Storm Christoph. 

Adding to the challenges, the B5429 road out of the village to Denbigh is also closed during daytime hours for five days for repairs and resurfacing work near Brynbella.

Diversions and delays are becoming the norm.
