Cava in Safara
Ended the day with a lovely dinner at Mireille and Dan's, to which we contributed a bottle of the excellent Cava we brought from Spain.
And then we all watched One Life, with Anthony Hopkins and Helena Bonham Carter, about Nicholas Winton, who organised the rescue of 669 Jewish children from Czechoslovakia before WW2. Very moving what an "ordinary" man accomplished - but couldn't help thinking about all the Palestinian children not being rescued now...
And surprise, surprise (not), the builder couldn't make the meeting today, but we have sent off the email and plans to the town council, asking for permission to build.
Gratefuls:
- Luís, the architect, and his commitment
- Dan and Mireille's hospitality
- that Nicholas Winton, his family, and friends, did what they could
Have read and starred/hearted your Blips, but need my bed now, sorry!
