Mostly Six Five Oh

Technician here this morning to service the washer and dryer.  All good.

Fielding lots of emails from condo roof ramp-up back in RWC.

Then post office to deal with admin.  Not all good but got it resolved eventually, took me two trips.  There's a very unhelpful (understatement) person that works at that particular post office.  On my second trip back she was thankfully off the clock and a person there instead who actually helped me.  Whoo.

Stopped in at the Portland Art Museum to cleanse my mind.

Unfortunately the walk home after that turned into a whole sad thing.  A guy fell on the sidewalk and couldn't get up, he'd hit his head and was bleeding profusely.  Four of us went to his aid, we called 911 against his wishes.  I handed over the copious amounts of Kleenex I always have in my bag to staunch the flow.  He insisted we get him to his apartment across the street, he'd be ok, just wanted to go home.  He was able to answer the 911 operator's questions relayed to him, one of the guys started slowly helping him to stand and then gently across the street, he was unsteady but determined.  Ugh!  The guy who'd pulled over in his car and got out to help, three kiddos in back, tried to sound reassuring that it was just a small gash, bleed a lot, should be ok, blah, blah, blah.  Enh.  The other still on the call with the 911 operator explained what was happening we watched him wobble across the street with the aid of the other in our group of four strangers who'd momentarily all coalesced around this poor man.  Weird how time stands still in these situations.

One of the most unsettling bits of this whole thing was a guy taking photographs/video of us all while this was happening.  I didn't realize until I sensed someone near me and turned to see this guy filming us with his phone.  I couldn't really believe it.  Still can't.

After our group disbanded I continued my walk home, worrying about the guy and seething about the creepy filmer.

Head pounding.  I ate something very sugary when I got home.
