Eben's day out

A good day out.
E picked 'Harold and the Purple Crayon' as his chosen film, and we reclined in style at the local Odeon.
Later he had a mini strop about where to get lunch, but we both got over that. Sometimes you really can see the embryonic adolescent in him :-)
Ruth was working all morning with Jack, running a workshop for kids at the City Farm about making cyanotypes. I love the fact that they are finding occasional opportunities to work together.
Ruth finished early enough to meet Eben and me at Site Gallery in town soon after lunch. She knew there was a "Cyber Cafe" installation there that Eben might like. Entertainingly he griped about the idea of going to the gallery but as we approached it, he saw the Cyber Cafe poster and suddenly brightened up. Inside, he soon began to get his head round simple coding in a programme called Strudel (main image); you can create music sequences with it. That is, once he slowed down enough to read some of the guidance...
The Cyber Cafe event was put on by a group of teenagers who meet regularly at the gallery. If it's still there in 5 or 6 years' time, E will be in there....
