My topsy-turvy life

A typical break

Summer holiday 2024 day 7

A long old day with a long old journey.
It started relatively early with Aaron going into school to get his GCSE results and getting more than he needed to get into college. We're so proud of him getting to the end of it all successfully, especially with all the trials of a new school with none of his old friends and then COVID curtailing a portion of his education. Onwards and upwards.

After that it was a trip to McDonald's for a breakfast reward before taking Aaron to his Dad's for the weekend. He didn't fancy joining our road trip down to Portsmouth for the Victorious Festival. A journey that took us the best part of 7 hours with a couple of stops, included a brief sojourn into Bicester for Owen to run around a park and get his daily ice cream...along with coffees and a quick selfie for Louisa and me.

We eventually got to the wrong hotel just after 6pm before realising that the right hotel was on the other side of the roundabout. Same company, similar name, literally a couple of hundred metres apart.
