Bridge over the Fleet

Today's the day ....................... to leave

Storm Lilian  obviously did her thing last night and caused a bit of chaos on the Rail Network - with the result that Bob and Françoise's train was cancelled this morning.  The only good thing nowadays is that at least you get a text telling you this, which saves you from going all the way to the station, only to discover it then.

So plans were changed and it was decided to go for a later train from Dumfries, rather than Lockerbie.  This worked out well - and I can tell you that they are now safely back home in Bristol, probably in the middle of an aperitif before dinner.

We're missing them already - and so here is a picture of them on the bridge over the River Fleet at Gatehouse of Fleet, taken yesterday afternoon......................
