Hunting sunflowers
We had agreed to go cycling when my husband comes home. And so we did. We saw that the rain was approaching us, so we planned a shorter ride. My husband tells me that he's seen a new sunflower field and I agree that we should go check it out.
So we take a bit further route to the road that leads to the field. My husband tells me it's bit further from our normal route, but he's not sure if it was 2 or 5km from the intersection.
After 17km we understand that either the field has been cut or he is mistaken. My initial plan was to cycle about 15km as this was the first ride after Covid. So 17km and no sunflowers. And we go back. And the sunflowers are about 6km from our house by that road, but as we took the other route we missed them.
The long lost sunflower field is behind us in this picture. After this we took the shortest route home. I ended up cycling 33km instead of the about 15km.
I told my husband (jokingly) that he's seen me lying on the sofa so much that he decided to trick me into massive training session. (The roads we are really hilly: up and down all the time.)
