2024 Monday — School Daze
It’s early Monday. Our 4 great-grandkids are heading into Week 2 of this new school term. The photo is our youngest great grandson, RJ. He’s five years old, starting kindergarten. His baby sister will arrive in early November.
The fog is fairly thick here this morning. Mr. Fun & I are seeing hints of summer weather finally beginning here on the Central Coast. People say we do not have seasons in California, but we see the seasonal changes on the shoreline: the sand levels, the kelp, the little sea critters. Yes, we have seasons.
We can hardly believe school has resumed. That should not happen until the Monday after Labor Day week. We remember with great delight returning home with our two kids from September weeks of Catalina Christian Family Camp with chocolate tan bodies, piles of laundry, and the new season of school waiting just outside our front door. We would roll out of bed on the second September Monday morning to put on the one clean outfit of clothes we had reserved for that day. Boom! School started! A new season rushed in like a rogue wave!
Now it is a new Monday, the third one of August. Enjoy it. We won’t get to live this day twice.
From California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
