Woolloomooloo Pylon Art

The recently renewed friend recalled us checking out this pylon art when it was new 40 years ago. The three-storey brick building in the background is still the Matthew Talbot hostel and people who are turned away, or have dogs, still sleep rough under the pylons, but the area has been saved from developers. Eight of the 16 murals have now been designated as of “high historical significance”.

We lasted ‘til intermission at The Cherry Orchard, reimagined in Thatcherite Britain, at The Old Fitz.
