SNIPE

I spent the morning watching my rotary dryer spinning round like a mad thing in the wind from Storm Lilian,  making myself a birthday cake and buying myself a big bunch of roses for B to give me (he didn't know until I got home and thanked him). After Yvonne and I had blown our candles out (I blew, she watched) and we were all caked out and we'd seen the postman pass by without calling I went over to RSPB Saltholme to walk some of it off. The wind seemed to have put off the birds and butterflies although I came face to face with this Snipe unexpectedly and managed a couple of photos before it realised and flew off. There were lots of dragonflies about (extra) which was pleasing. We were still too full of cake to bother with the meal I'd planned in the evening so we just snacked and I'll cook it sometime during the weekend.
