Not the singer. A Mallard or Rakiraki. Just one example of New Zealand's most numerous and widespread waterfowl. Originally introduced from the 1870s to the 1930s they are now interbreeding with the native Grey duck. This one was part of a family group that hang around one of the local stormwater management lakes.
