If you go down to the woods today ...

A later start today as we went into Liverpool to buy fabric. A picnic lunch at Formby Point, then we set off for a bike ride, along the railway line (not literally), through the woods, along the coastal road to Southport pier. After a brief stop we continued along the coast road and turned inland to the Botanical Gardens where we met this fellow in the woods.

After the statutory ice cream we cycled on to Hesketh Park and had a walk around the lake, then cycled back to Southport along Marine Drive with a quick photo stop at the funfair and a couple of races on the motorbikes in the amusements - just a good job we don't ride/drive like that it real life!

As we started to head back we realised it was 5.40pm and I had a sudden panic that they might close the gate on the car park!!! It slightly took the edge off the ride back, which was another hour. Thankfully the gate was still open when we got back! We had a wonderful ride and great afternoon, 24 miles in total.

A quick shower and turn around and then we revived our energy levels at the Chinese buffet.
