Salford to London
I met Hannah at seven-thirty, this morning, for a 5.6 mile run. By coincidence, we both had the same run scheduled in our training plans, and we enjoyed a jaunt out to the old racecourse.
It was a lovely morning for a run and it was also a pleasure to have someone to chat to after Sunday's long, solitary outing.
And in the afternoon, the Minx and I set off for London with a second carful of the miniMinx's possessions to take down to her new place in London. The journey flew by, actually, and it seemed like we were in Chiswick in no time.
It's the miniMinx's twenty-first birthday tomorrow - she's actually not so mini anymore - but we took her out, this evening, to a place called Megan's. Despite rehearsing all day, she was on fine form and loved all her birthday presents, both those from us and some other ones we'd brought down from other people.
It's funny to think that I've known her for nearly twelve years now, and I couldn't begin to describe the ways in which she's changed whilst remaining entirely true to her character.
She has always been - and remains - funny, quick-witted, kind, exceptionally loyal to her friends, self-deprecating, and a talented clown. The Minx has done an exceptional job of raising her pretty much on her own. It was a joy to be out with the pair of them this evening, as it usually is.
