Thornhill
Toms older brother and wife have bought a house in Thornhill. Tom and I visited today. It’s only an hour and 10 from our house. North of Dumfries.
Toms sister was also at the house when we arrived,
Rani gave us a grand tour of this not so little house. In fact quite rambling. It goes up 3 floors and has lots of steps and stairs. I lost track of how many rooms it had. The garden is situated down quite a long passage. It’s really quite big, about 4 allotments worth.
There are 4 Cafes in Thornhill, we went to Thomas Tosh. It’s a cafe, gallery and bookshop. Perfect. I brought cake for us to eat after lunch.
Rani had made a delicious chickpea curry, it went down well.
They are right in the centre of this little town with ample pubs and hotels. It’s also on a logging lorry route, they’ll be glad when they get double glazed windows. Fortunately the bedrooms are in the back.
My NC500 book was waiting for me when I got home. More plotting and planning!
