Winchester Cathedral

What a beautiful place!  And this window was reconstructed by locals in the 17th century of the fragments left after the vandalism of Cromwell's forces – see the detail in the Extra.  The history of cathedral is well laid out in the exhibition areas, although it's still a place of faith and worship.

It was pouring with rain when we got to Winchester this morning, indeed we went because it was raining, but the sun emerged later and we enjoyed the streets in the dry as well.

And I had "Winchester Cathedral" (1966) in my head all morning, of course.
