Requiem

Didn’t have a great sleep, but managed to get up and about in good time and went to IKEA to take back the cushions I bought the other day and returned the others to Sainsbury’s then did some food shopping there and nipped next door for some different storage containers.
Home and unpacked everything then after some lunch I cleaned up everywhere, constantly on the hunt for my ring which is surely around the house somewhere….but no joy. I called the theatre to see if it had been found there but no luck, and emptied out the bins to see if it had dropped in there…My friend Sa made it for me many years ago, with the three linked rings for my three children, and I’ll be so upset if it doesn’t turn up.
Had a very low key afternoon doing some reading of a new novel that’s a bit lightweight, but didn’t take a nap (probably should have done), before jacket potato supper and then out to Verdi’s Requiem with CR. Those thundering ‘Dies Ires’ passages were as dramatic as always, and the huge Festival Chorus were on fine form.
Home and straight to bed. M and the girls had arrived when I was out and then gone to a show, so I won’t see them til the morning!
