Woman and Bird and The Best Laid Plans

We both did a couple of hours desk work in the morning.

We’d then planned to go to Sitges for a walk by the sea and lunch - unlike us, we’d even booked a table for lunch. However, after spending an hour in Sants train station in 2 queues to buy tickets at machines (which worked intermittently) then 2 queues to buy them at manned ticket desks (first desk closed when we were 4 from the front and we left before we reached the desk in the second one), we gave up and decided to just stay in Barcelona. Best laid plans.

Anyway, we were lucky to get into Can Ugal on Calle Berlin, our area’s newest restaurant and our third time there. Lovely lunch of a shared salad and delicious turbot, simply cooked. Great service, not rushed. Another table booked for an upcoming friend’s visit.

As we were relaxing in the early evening, Bb suddenly realised that the football match he had tickets for was for tonight and not Sunday!! Just in time for him to head off! I met him after the match on Plaza España and we walked back together and stopped for a tapa of croquettes at the old Modelo bar. Very humid and 28 degrees at 10pm. Not dropping below 24 during the night.

My blip is of Miro’s Woman and Bird statue, which I walked past on my way to meet Bb.
