Harvest!

Two groups from the neighbouring camera club Tampere Photographic Society visiting our studio this weekend, so I went there to welcome the first group in the morning. Back home for lunch and then fetching the combine with Jussi.

It rained seven millimetres at night, so not an optimal day to start the harvest, but it was windy, so there was a chance for the grain to dry. We started before half past two, but that was too early. By four it was as good as it got though, and thanks to starting early, I got the batch in the dryer by half past six and it was ready before midnight.

The barley yield is poor, which was no surprise, nor was varying moisture because of the late sprouted parts of the field.
