Craigellachie Bridge

This is a cast iron arch bridge over the River Spey built by Thomas Telford between 1812 and 1814. Although significant preservation work was carried out 1963-64, it was bypassed by a new road bridge and closed to vehicles in 1972. It looks quite a spectacular structure when viewed from river level.
We had a walk along the river at Aberlour in the morning and sat down on a bench for ten minutes, watching the water flow by. In that short time we saw seven salmon jump.
The rain caught up with us in the mid afternoon so we enjoyed a relaxing Sunday reading in the van, a rare occupation for us.
