Foraging on the beach

A quiet catch up day. I have updated my blip from yesterday if you want to have a wee look.

Not such nice weather today, but we decided to take the dogs out down the beach this evening and checked the tide etc. The section of beach near the cliff can get cut off, so we are very mindful of that. It said at least three hours till high tide, but we wanted to look for some driftwood for the garden project we are working on and that is the best location.

We did indeed find a few small bits. I also found this whale shaped rock with some inhabitants clinging in the crease. Looking it up briefly, I shall research more, it could be common periwinkle. Or should I just call them sea snails?

Any suggestions welcome. Or any good sites I should check out?
