Elvis Weekender

It was the Elvis Weekender in Paignton this weekend, an annual event at the outdoor Geopark Cafe, with free daytime shows by a variety of Elvis’s from midday until 7pm. The cafe is on the seafront and we were there with our grandchildren enjoying the fairground rides as it is the last day of their holidays. The cafe is dedicated to Elvis all year round, and the king can be heard at almost any time of the day, and any time of the year. The weekender though is special, and attracts a large crowd of fans. These two were very good, performing together, two kings for the price of one. I saw a friend there. She had been there since midday and wasn’t going home until it finished. ‘ I’m a big fan’,  she told me. ‘No kidding,’  I said. The atmosphere was brilliant, and  the audience very appreciative.
