Meripilus Giganteus?

A great day. Penny and Steve invited me to join them on a walk at Newlands Corner and the for lunch at the Percy Arms in Chilworth (the best Sunday roast you could wish for). We walked for an hour (not nearly enough to set off the later lunch but never mind). Shortly before getting back to the car park we spotted this enormous fungus. I am not at all certain what it is (any clues fellow blippers?) But having searched through my DK Wildlife of Britain book (won years ago at a pub quiz), I think that it just might be a Giant Polypore.
