Front garden

The front garden has been replanted this year. I am pleased with the way it is coming to life and hoping that it will be even better next year. I was looking at some penstemon plants last week but wondered whether it would be better to wait until next year? Any advice please?

I made a start on the new sewing project today but got in a mess turning some ties. First one(about 12 inches long and about half an inch wide took me all afternoon. I learnt from my mistakes and the second one took about 4 minutes this evening. They will be sewn into place tomorrow.
