Nice walk before the rain
Had a long lie in and awoke with a muggy head meaning little motivation to do much at all. The weather was on/off also although by the late afternoon I needed to get out regardless.
Youngest came home from my parents house & we took Shadow over to Marple Bridge, parking in Brabyns Park and heading up the brow to the canal. We walked down past the locks, crossed the aqueduct and took the footpath beneath it through farmland towards Compstall.
Once reaching Compstall a rough lane took us across an iron bridge, much smaller but very much inspired by 'the' Ironbridge in Telford, although this one was cast in 1813 by Salford Iron Works to span the River Goyt.
Heading back through the parks fields the weather was just about to change and we just about made it back to the car without getting rained on.
