Dragonfly
We had a welcome lie-in this morning despite getting up early once each to feed Minstrel. He hadn't conned us into feeding him twice - we always leave a bit of time between providing soft food and dry food so that he doesn't pig out and make himself sick!
After we'd had our breakfast it was decided that we'd go for a walk around Hartsholme Park, then do the weekly shop in Sainsbury's while they have some good offers available. I wrote my shopping list and off we went.
It was quite temperate in Hartsholme as the trees sheltered us from the very cool breeze. We enjoyed a relaxed walk around the park and saw a grebe, a couple of butterflies - I tried photographing a Speckled Wood but it was very blurry - three more lizards, one of which I have posted an extra of, and a heron which flew away as soon as we noticed it, pretty much. There were several damsel and dragonflies too - I noticed this Ruddy Darter settle on a decaying tree and took a couple of shots!
Onwards to Sainsbury's. It wasn't as chaotic in there as it often is at Tesco on a Bank Holiday, but the thing with shopping in a particular supermarket only occasionally is that it takes longer to find things. They also have items not stocked elsewhere so you may tend to buy them while you have the chance.
Back home then to eat some lunch. Brian has gone for a nap, poor old chap! He would have slept on the sofa but I could not be doing with the snoring so I sent him upstairs. Minstrel is sleeping on the sofa now - quietly!
