Grapes

We spent the afternoon with friends who have a mature grapevine in their large conservatory. The twisted trunk starts outside the building, passes through a hole in the wall and spreads out inside the conservatory in an espalier fashion.

This is one plump, hanging bunch, safe from the birds, gently ripening in the summer heat.
