Dune
Time for a holiday today, so I was up in good time to prepare for the arrival of the wee ones and with them running a little behind, I was able to get a lot of stuff in the back of the van.
We had a nice good bye hug from the neighbours before setting off on our jollies. Given that it was a Bank Holiday Monday, the journey was pretty good and we made it to our destination in good time. In fact, we were a little early, which gave us time to go and find a beach I had seen on Google Maps.
We missed it at the first time of asking, but hit the mark on the second and oh my goodness, what a find! A glorious sandy beach, which appeared to stretch for miles and had practically no one on it! We immediately removed our shoes and socks and had a quick paddle in the North Sea.
Spotting the sand dunes further up the coast, the wee ones scrambled up and then came bombing down it - for once I had my phone to hand at the opportune moment.
We lingered for a little while and then headed back to the van and then to check in at the site, where we squeezed in ice creams, a wander and some crazy golf.
The wee ones wandered off after tea for a go on the playground, so I poured myself a beer and took a seat on the balcony to capture the day’s activities in this blip.
The holiday is off to a good start!
