Stromness Lifeboat

The Severn class All-weather lifeboat  17-16 Violet, Dorothy and Kathleen heading out into Hoy Sound this evening, to aid a yacht coming into Stromness that appeared to be having some engine problems. 

It looked like the yacht hit the ebb tide at exactly the wrong time too, and there were some gnarly looking overfalls out there....not a pleasant place to be with minimal/no engine power.

Happily the lifeboat crew got a line over to the yacht and towed her in....testament to the amazing work and bravery of the crew. Amazing people.
