Wheeee!
A bit of a strange show last night, by Jur, a French/Catalan band. It was held in the village hall due to bad weather and very dimly lit, so conditions were far from ideal for taking photos. The singer had a very idiosyncratic style, which I can't describe -- you'll just have to look at the video I linked to above -- and the singing was interspersed with acrobatics. At the end of the show she lay down on the stage and the three male band members piled all their instruments on top of her, augmented with a chair or two, and then went outside for a smoke. She lay there making conversation with the audience till they returned and extracted her. All very odd, but intriguing!
In other news, I drove to Figueres to pick up S, who has finished walking for this year. The new boots he bought in Vielha a week ago have already started to fall apart, and so has his right knee. He's going to complain to the manufacturer about the two pairs of expensive boots, but that doesn't seem to work for knees, so he's going to see if a series of magic injections like the ones he had in his left knee a few months ago will do the trick.
On the way back we decided to detour via El Trull del Francesc for lunch -- a restaurant in the middle of nowhere that we haven't been to for ages. After half an hour wiggling and winding along narrow roads, we got there and it was closed. However we'd noticed a place called El Moli on the way, so we drove back there. It was very pleasant, with a lovely wisteria-clad terrace, so we enjoyed it even though the food wasn't as good as it is at el Trull. And now S is home and in just a few hours he has fixed all the stuff I broke and couldn't mend :)
