Past Its Used By

An old winch, obviously long past its use by date, sits at the head of a little cove sheltered from the sea by rocks. I thought an inanimate, manmade, decrepit machine set against surrounding grasses and wildflowers (Mayweed Sea?) an interesting juxtaposition.

Nearby lie the remains of old lobster pots, metal caging rusted and knotted rope netting, not plastic, denoting their antiquity. No sign of a boat though, probably long destroyed, or repurposed as a planter in a village someplace.
