Hot day today as we worked through the magnet that is Versailles. Not the photo of course, but the train journey we took to get there. This blip is the street we are staying on in Montmartre as we set off on our quest!

Versailles is ugly as sin. Not for its stunning curve appeal, but for all it stands for. The walls are adorned with brave men slaughtering one another. The long halls filled with busts of men who helped cultivate the magnificent paintings of pathos and woe.

What have we learned? Flora said she preferred the gardens to the house. Maybe we have a chance with her generation.
