A delightful day on Dartmoor

Our friend Tessa drove us up to Dartmoor today which was beautiful as well as interesting. We passed lots of Dartmoor ponies like these two, and lots of sheep and cows grazing peacefully by the road. We saw the notorious Dartmoor prison from a distance (in first extra) which has now closed because of high levels of radon in the granite which can cause lung cancer. All the prisoners have been moved out in the past three months - goodness knows where they're now spending their time with  prisons so overcrowded!

We gave the dogs a nice walk before our pub lunch and then stopped on our way home by the Plym river up on the moor (in extras) as it wends its way down to Plymouth. Ivy and Betty had a drink from the river and a nice paddle.
