Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

After my (tongue-in-cheek) email of complaint about the beeping from the air fryer causing trauma in Archie, I had a phone call to discuss exactly what was wrong. We had to have a video call for me to demonstrate the on/off beeps, but of course they can’t be changed. I suggested that they think of that for the future - Archie can’t be the only dog to be distressed by them. Perhaps a blinking light, or a choice of less triggering sounds…

When I finished the demonstration beepings, Archie was, of course, traumatised and hiding behind the chair in the bedroom. I lifted him up, and he just sank back and went to sleep. Mind you, he’d been unsettled during the night. The new pills haven’t kicked in yet. Fingers crossed for tonight.

We went a walk over to the Quartermile and watched the men dismantling the whole Book Festival set up. We shared an ice cream. (Just Archie and I, not with the workmen…)

JR has been busy, after the gym, going to the supermarket, making more bread, and her speciality - an oaty nutty ‘cake’. And taking Archie out again.

The vet rang - they want to try some sort of spray on Archie, all part of his ‘pet plan’, so (ostensibly) free. The new pills are almost £2 each, so let’s hope that he’s NOT on them for life…
