Bob wrote this song 60 years ago, and of course so much has changed in that time, but I wonder if he foresaw a time when cash would play such an increasingly small role in our daily lives. I used to regularly accumulate stacks of spare change in this pot on my bedside cabinet which I would cash in from time to time. I can't remember when I last had to do this, but I'm pretty sure it would have been in the good old days before we'd heard of covid-19
