Not Enough for Jam

One of our first priorities when we moved here was to plant a Victoria Plum tree. Once established, it has fruited pretty well - good crops, even a glut a couple of times. This year, the crop has been small, and limited to a small area of the tree. I wonder whether it’s just part of a natural cycle - most crops seem to have good years and bad.
