Helenium .......

....... more affectionally known as Sneezeweed.

Very, very wet through the night and when I woke this morning I could hear the car's driving on very wet roads. When I opened the porch door the heat hit me like a blast from a furnace but there was still a mighty puddle to sweep away from the slabs in front of my front step. It only floods when the rainfall has been excessive.

The weeds came out very easily after the earth received a very liberal watering during the night. Most of my Heleniums are finished flowering but there are still a few growing in a very shady spot beside a couple of ferns.
