Inside the stairwell of Old Convent, Beeches Green
After my last journal entry, I did ring my osteopath and have been to see him, and I feel much better as a result. He also give me some background history to this building, which was useful to know. Sadly, I also spotted some other serious damp on some of the interior walls particularly above this area of the round stairwell. It was built like an external round tower to link the various floors of the original convent, so that the nun's could get access from their cells to the rest of the large building.
On the way out, I stood near the bottom of the tower to take this shot. I couldn't quite fit in all of the windows and stairs so this will have to do.
